i was thinking about doing kind of a waterfall feature to it, where the mineral oil would waterfall over the motherboard. i would probably have to keep the heatsinks on the processors, but i would get a second GPU heatsink on the CPU so it isnt so big. i would probably hook up the pump to an external radiator and that would feed back into the tank and to the top of the tank where it would waterfall over the board.

the only thing im having trouble figuring out is how im going to seperate all the connections on the motherboard (HDMI/A/V, power, USB you know) and cutting the necessary holes in the tank and sealing them to the inside so they are still accessible from the outside. my guess was just remove them, and solder wires in between the contacts from the connection and the board.

im kinda nervous about doing this, as i dont think anyone ever has before. i probably wont unless i can sell that NOS xbox but hopefully i can, cause it would be pretty crazy to see.]]>

now iv been wanting to paint my xbox for a while, and i understand that the console obviously needs to be taken apart to have to do that, so my question is that will this stop me being able to play on xbox live?

i know all the trouble that microsoft have recently gone through on banning modded consoles, so is there a little switch in the xbox that'll be able to tell if i've opened it? or did they only ban the xbox's with the modded hardware?

i don't personally think that it will make any difference, and i know that it voids the warranty, but mine is out of warranty anyway, i just want to be sure that i can still play the way i am at the moment before i commit to anything.
